The origins

Our story begins long before the vineyards of Loazzolo.
It starts in the nineteenth century with the vision of a man: Egidio Isolabella, born in Alessandria in 1835.

Fascinated by the world of distillates and the aromatic power of medicinal plants, Egidio skillfully dedicated himself to the creation of liqueurs and vermouth. His talent led him to invent a refined formula based on Moscato, giving life to an iconic label: Isolabella High-Life.
The excellence of his work earned him important recognitions, including the official supply for the Royal House of Italy.
His company, solid and respected, remained in family hands until the Second World War. But in 1943, during the bombings, the facility was destroyed. Production was interrupted, but not the desire for return and rebirth.

The rebirth

In 2001, after more than half a century, the Isolabella della Croce family rekindles that ancient bond with the land and the wine.

It is done by Lodovico Isolabella della Croce, his wife Maria Teresa, and their children Luigi and Francesco, who choose a small municipality in the Asti Langhe, Loazzolo, to give shape to a dream: to found a farm that would be a testament to family memory, but open to the future.

A new life

Thus Borgo Isolabella is born.

A project that is not just architecture or production, but a choice of life: that of returning to slowness, care, and quality.

The knowledge passed down – like the university thesis on yeasts written by the chemist grandfather – becomes a guide for a new generation, which renews tradition with a more aware perspective, attentive to the environment, identity, and future.

Today the company cultivates the historic vines of the territory along with international varieties, producing about 100,000 bottles a year. Making wine in Loazzolo is a daily challenge: vertiginous slopes, limited yields, a courageous viticulture that requires precision and respect.

But it is precisely this difficulty that makes the work authentic. Every wine is born as a tribute to the family history, every bottle contains a fragment of what we have been – and what we want to become. Isolabella today is a bridge between eras: between what belongs to the past and what we have chosen to rebuild, with new hands and the same heart.

The future

We await you in Loazzolo, a place suspended between sky and vineyard, among silent hills and untouched landscapes, to experience wine and nature through authenticity and emotions.
Together we will discover beauty, the art of wine, and the most elegant form of hospitality: make every moment your own to keep magic, inspiration, and memory.
