Vineyards
Preserve verticality, cultivate essence

Pending matters
In Loazzolo, the landscape is shaped by extreme slopes: verticality is a dominant element with which man and life confront themselves daily.
A viticulture that requires courage, patience, and skilled hands.
Approach
Without human intervention, these slopes would be destined for abandonment, with irreparable consequences for the territory and for the balance of the Langhe landscape.
Our company takes on this environmental and cultural responsibility, proudly adhering to the project of the Moscato Consortium, which, through the selection of the Surì Vineyards, protects the most rugged and valuable slopes of this territory.
Cru
Three vineyards, three souls of our Pinot Noir
The company carefully cultivates three distinct Pinot Noir vineyards, each with a unique personality that contributes to the identity of our wines.
La Vigna Vecchia
The original heart of the company, planted between 2002 and 2003 at an altitude of 510 meters, with a westward exposure. Here grows a classic clone for red winemaking, which gives rise to a Pinot Noir with a good structure and a traditional fruity profile. It is the structural base of our Brico del Falco.
La Vela
Planted in 2007-2008, it faces southeast and southwest and hosts as many as 11,000 plants per hectare: an exceptional density. It uses a low-yield French clone, with scattered clusters, capable of expressing great elegance, verticality, and freshness. From the fermentation, spicy notes and a surprising aromatic finesse can be detected.
Il Mongarden
Exposed to the east, it is the youngest of the three vineyards, always the last to mature (about 7-10 days after the others). Here, an intensely vibrant fruit is born, perfectly suited for whole cluster vinification due to the good lignification of the stem. It is the vineyard that gives the greatest fruity expression.
Barbera
Calamandrana, an area of excellence for Barbera
Calamandrana is one of the most prestigious areas of Monferrato, a territory where Barbera finds its highest expression. From these vineyards come wines that become Nizza DOCG and Nizza Superiore, intense, elegant reds with great personality. Here, the combination of suitable soils, ideal exposures, and winemaking tradition transforms Barbera into a symbol of quality recognized internationally. Calamandrana is therefore the heart of an area that not only produces wine but also tells the very soul of Monferrato.
A balanced ecosystem
Courage, experimentation, and resilience are the ingredients for making wine in the heart of these hills.
In our daily work, the protection of the Loazzolo ecosystem is a concrete priority.
We measure the CO₂ emissions generated also by road transport, and the result indicates a positively impactful viticulture: thanks to the presence of the forest that surrounds and protects the vineyards, the final balance is in credit.
We do not just preserve vines, but an idea of harmony between man, earth, and time.
Because every grape harvested here is not just a fruit, but also a memory of what we save.
